HOW WE MET "Mason and I met at the beginning of our fall semester of school. We both had spent the summers working and were excited to get back to being with friends. Mason had been in St. George building pickleball courts and I was working at the MTC. With the excitement of school starting my cousin Hadley and I decided to host a back to school bbq on Labor Day to celebrate the new semester. Hadley's friends said they had a cute group of boys that could help grill the food. This cute group of boys happened to be Mason and his friends. They all came over to help, the bbq was a success, but I have zero memory of ever meeting Mason. Mason claims we talked. He even claims that he told me a joke and I touched his arm while laughing. It's still up to debate if this really happened. A couple weekends later Hadley invited all of us up to her cabin. Everyone parked at my house before driving up. I remember coming outside and seeing a tall blonde boy leaning against a truck. I thought he was so cute. When we got to the cabin Mason and I ended up having a lot of fun together. It was here that we really met, had our first kiss, and decided we wanted to go out on more dates." - Annie

OUR FIRST DATE Our first date is one I’ll never forget, not because we fell in love at first sight, but because I completely embarrassed myself. I had asked Annie out, planning to take her to dinner and maybe grab dessert afterward. She ended up being busy that evening, so we audibled to an afternoon lunch instead. I decided on a picnic. I stopped by Five Sushi Brothers and grabbed a couple of drinks on the way. Then we headed up to Rock Canyon Park for what I imagined would be a smooth, impressive first date. After parking the truck, we each grabbed something - sushi, drinks, blanket, speaker - and started trekking through the trees to find the perfect spot. As we were making our way through the canyon, I was so focused on keeping the conversation going that I completely forgot to watch where I was stepping. Annie was walking in front of me, mid-conversation, when I stepped straight into a massive pile of mud and wiped out. Hoping she hadn’t noticed, I jumped up as quickly as possible and pretended nothing happened. What I didn’t realize? My pants were completely covered in wet mud. After that humbling moment, and a half-mile walk of me trying to act natural, we finally found our spot. We laid out the blanket and started eating sushi. About five minutes in, we realized we had set up right next to a bees’ nest. Now, I’m terrified of bees. I tried to keep my cool and maintain steady conversation, but that “manly composure” didn’t last long. We packed everything up and headed back to the truck, wrapping up what turned out to be an unforgettable first date. Despite my muddy pants and clear fear of bees, I must have done something right, although it still took me three weeks of playing “the game” to land that second date." - Mason

WHILE WE WERE DATING... "After our memorable sushi picnic, Mason and I began the next two years of dating. These two years contain many of our favorite memories. We went to Utah football games, sang Billy Joel during karaoke, made homemade pasta, and had dinner dates up Provo Canyon. We went on our first family trip together to Newport Beach for spring break. This turned into family trips to Boston, Cape Cod, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and many more. We had so much fun getting to know each other and both of our families. We experienced car accidents, long school semesters, and new jobs together. In June of 2024, I left for a study abroad in Europe. While I was supposed to be enjoying many new countries and cultures, I spent most of the time missing Mason and looking forward to being back in Provo together. We sent lots of postcards, FaceTimed at all the big tourist sights, and lived vicariously through each other’s summers. It was during this time when I really knew I wanted Mason in my life. We ended the summer together in Hollywood, Florida, where I got to experience a snippet of Mason’s childhood. It was so fun to be a part of where many memories were formed for him. What has stood out the most to me during our time of dating was the year that followed that summer. During this school semester, I was preparing to graduate and trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life. Every step of the way and during every big decision, I felt constantly supported by Mason. Over and over, Mason reminded me that wherever I went, we would make it work and continue to be together. This is one of Mason’s biggest strengths. He makes every goal, dream, or plan I have happen. In May of 2025, I graduated and moved to Orlando, Florida, where I started working in advertising for Disney. While this meant Mason and I were apart, it was so fun to begin a new chapter of our lives. We planned trips to see each other, enjoying many days at Disney World and weekends back in Utah. I’m so grateful for these couple years we had together. I feel so fortunate to have not only fallen in love with Mason but to have found my best friend." - Annie

THE SEALING "We were married and sealed on November 15, 2025. Our sealing was truly the happiest day of our lives, and we were so grateful to spend it surrounded by our closest family and friends. From the very beginning of wedding planning, we knew we wanted to have a smaller sealing before our wedding reception. What we didn’t plan on was it happening six months before the reception. After spending months doing long distance - and not loving it - we were ready to be back together. Mason was starting a new job in Florida at the beginning of December, and we decided to get married and sealed right before his move. The only thing this meant was that we now get to have two celebrations with the family and friends we love. Although this wasn’t our original plan, we wouldn’t change it for the world. These past few months of marriage have been the best, and we are so excited for this upcoming May and the celebration we get to share with all of you. Thank you all for being so loving and supportive of us - it truly means so much to us." - Mason &amp; Annie
